Clint, that is an excelent question. I think we should defently have some common interest with the one we love, not necessarely our biggets hobbies. But it depends on a couple of factors: how passioned are you about the hobbie, and how much time do you spend on it?
In my opinion, for someone to have a healthy and happy relationship they need to build on it, spend some time together. It is convinent, not necessary that you do have some common interest to do that.
By coincidence golf is a real family killer. Unfortunately many families were (and still are) destroid because one of the side of the couple spends the entire week working and the weekend on the golf corse.

This actually opens up another discussion point - should we try to make sure who we marry are also interested in some of our biggest hobbies?
